The other day I reached out to my network on social media to help me prep for a panel. Here’s what I wrote:
I’m speaking on a panel tomorrow and would like to share with folks some examples of ways to talk about the Movement for Black Lives platform with preschoolers.
I’ve got a busy day today and I could use some help. Here’s your assignment (should you choose to accept it): choose one of the demands below and translate it into 1-3 sentences that you’d use to explain what it means to a 4-year-old. [Bonus points: consider how your racial identity and your child’s racial identity impact what you’ll say and how you’ll say it]
The response was amazing! My community came together and built a truly beautiful resource for educators and parents! You can check it out here.
